في 26 نوفمبر/تشرين الثاني 2019، اعتقل أفراد من الشرطة، يرتدون ملابس مدنية، الصحفيين: سلافة مجدي ( مصورة صحفية )، وحسام السيد الصياد ( مصور صحفي) ، ومحمد صلاح( صحفي)، من أحد المقاهي بالدقي في القاهرة، وصادروا هواتفهم وسيارة سلافة. وأمرت نيابة أمن الدولة، في اليوم التالي، بحبس سلافة ومحمد، إلى حين انتهاء التحقيقات بشأن تهمتين موجهتين إليهما بـ"الانضمام إلى جماعة إرهابية" و"نشر أخبار كاذبة"، بينما اتُهم حسام بـ"العضوية في جماعة إرهابية". وتعدى أفراد قطاع الأمن الوطني على سلافة بالضرب على ذراعها وجانبها اليُمنيَين، أثناء احتجازها، حينما رفضت السماح لهم بتفحص هاتفها. وأمرت النيابة بتجديد حبس الثلاثة لمدة 15 يومًا إلى حين انتهاء التحقيقات.
