قامت قوات الأمن بالقبض على مؤسس حركة شباب 6 إبريل، أحمد ماهر، أمس الجمعة 17 مايو 2019، إثر بلاغ كيدي حرره ضده أحد الأشخاص، بالتزامن مع توجهه إلى قسم شرطة القاهرة الجديدة لقضاء فترة المراقبة، والتي تبلغ 12 ساعة يومياً منذ الإفراج عنه في يناير 2017، بعد قضائه 3 سنوات في الحبس لدعوته إلى التظاهر. ويعرض ماهر على النيابة العامة، اليوم السبت، للتحقيق معه في المحضر الكيدي، والذي حُرر ضده عقب اقتراب أحد الأشخاص منه أمام قسم الشرطة، والاحتكاك عن عمد بسيارته، إيذاناً بالتشاجر معه، وأبلغ قسم الشرطة محامي ماهر بأنه محتجز إلى حين العرض على نيابة التجمع الخامس، لاتهامه بـ"الإتلاف" والتشاجر، بالرغم من اختفاء محرر المحضر بعد الواقعة. ويأتي القبض على ماهر بعد أيام قليلة من القبض على شقيقه مصطفى، والناشط العمالي هيثم محمدين، ما يؤكد وجود حملة جديدة تشنها الأجهزة الأمنية على الناشطين السياسيين، والمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان في مصر.

 تحديث 18/5/2019  : قررت نيابة التجمع إخلاء سبيل أحمد ماهر، مؤسس حركة 6 أبريل، على ذمة التحقيق معه في محضر تعدي بالضرب على أحد المواطنين وإتلاف سيارة أمام قسم شرطة ثالث القاهرة الجديدة، خلال ذهابه لتنفيذ عقوبة المراقبة الشرطية. وجهت النيابة لأحمد ماهر في المحضر رقم 2083 لسنة 2019 جنح القطامية، تهمتى إتلاف سيارة الشاكى والتعدى عليه بالضرب. كما استمعت إلى أقوال ماهر فى نفس المحضر كمجنى عليه، بإحداث تلفيات فى سيارته والاعتداء عليه من قبل الشاكي.
