أعلنت وزارة الداخلية، مقتل 12 ممن وصفتهم بالارهابيين  في مداهمات أمنية، وتبادل إطلاق نيران معهم  في 6 أكتوبر، والشروق.وقالت الوزارة في بيان لها: إنه استكمالا لجهودها فى مواجهة جماعة الإخوان الإرهابية من خلال توجيه الضربات الاستباقية لعناصرها، وإجهاض مخططاتها، لتنفيذ عمليات عدائية تستهدف زعزعة الأمن والاستقرار، وردت معلومات لقطاع الأمن الوطني تفيد صدور تكليفات من قيادات الجناح المسلح لتنظيم الإخوان الإرهابي في الخارج لعناصر حركة حسم، المسلحة التابعة لها، لتنفيذ سلسلة من العمليات العدائية خلال الفترة المقبلة لإحداث حالة من الفوضى في البلاد.وأضاف البيان: "أن عمليات المتابعة رصدت اتخاذ مجموعة من عناصر حركة حسم الإرهابية إحدى الشقق السكنية في مدينة 6 أكتوبر بمحافظة الجيزة، وكرا لتصنيع العبوات المتفجرة التي يقومون باستخدامها في تنفيذ تلك الأعمال، وبمداهمته قامت تلك العناصر بالمبادرة بإطلاق النيران تجاه القوات التي تعاملت معها على الفور، ما أسفر عن مصرع 7 من تلك العناصر، وعثر بحوزتهم على 4 أسلحة آلية عيار 7.62 ـ 1.39، وبندقية خرطوش وكمية من مادة R. Salt والنترات والدوائر الكهربائية، والأدوات المستخدمة في عمليات التصنيع.وأشار البيان إلى أنه في ذلك الإطار، أكدت المعلومات تواجد عدد من عناصر مجموعة التنفيذ التابعة للجماعة الإرهابية في إحدى الشقق السكنية بدائرة قسم الشروق بمحافظة القاهرة، استعدادا لتنفيذ عمليات عدائية، حيث داهمت القوات الوكر المشار إليه، وتبادلت إطلاق النار مع تلك العناصر، ما أسفر عن مصرع 5 وعثر بحوزتهم على 5 بنادق آلية، عيار 7.62 ـ 3.39، وخزينة بندقية آلية، وعبوتين معدتين للتفجير، وعبوتين متفجرتين، وتم اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية، وتتولى نيابة أمن الدولة العليا مباشرة التحقيقات.
