قضت محكمة النقض بالغاء أحكام الإعدام لاثنين من المتهمين واستبدالها بالمؤبد، كما استبدلت عقوبة المؤبد لـ3 متهمين اخرين بعقوبة المشدد 15 عاما فى القضية المعروفة إعلاميا بـ«خلية وجدي غنيم» ورفض الطعن فيما عدا ذلك.وكانت محكمة جنايات القاهرة، برئاسة المستشار شعبان الشامي، قد قضت بالإعدام شنقًا حضوريًا وبإجماع آراء أعضاء المحكمة للمتهمين عبد الله هشام محمود حسين، وعبد الله عيد عمار فياض.كما قضت المحكمة بمعاقبة المتهمين محمد عصام الدين، ومحمد عبد الحميد، وأحمد محمد طارق بالسجن المؤبد. وألزمت المحكمة المحكوم عليهم بالإقامة بمحل إقامتهم الثابت ببطاقة تحقيق الشخصية، وحظر الإقامة والتردد على دولة قطر وتركيا وسوريا ، وذلك لمدة خمس سنوات كتدبير احترازي، كما ألزمت كل المحكوم عليهم بالمصروفات، ومصادرة السلاح النارى والذخيرة والمفرقعات المضبوطة.

The Court of Cassation abolished the death sentences of two of the defendants and replaced them with life imprisonment, and replaced the life sentence of three other defendants with the 15-year sentence in the case known as the Wajdi Ghoneim cell. The Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Sha'ban al-Shami, Sentenced to death by hanging in the presence of the unanimous opinion of the members of the Court for the accused Abdullah Hisham Mahmoud Hussein and Abdullah Eid Ammar Fayyad. The court also sentenced the defendants Mohammed Essam Eddin, Mohamed Abdel Hamid and Ahmed Mohamed Tarek to life imprisonment. The court ordered those sentenced to reside in their permanent residence with a personal identification card, a residence ban on Qatar, Turkey and Syria for a period of five years as a precautionary measure, as well as all those sentenced to the expenses and confiscation of firearms, ammunition and explosives.

Yargıtay, sanıklardan ikisinin ölüm cezasını kaldırmış ve onları ömür boyu hapis cezasıyla değiştirmiş ve Wajdi Ghoneim hücresi olarak bilinen davada 15 yıl hapis cezasıyla diğer üç sanığın ömür boyu hapis cezasını değiştirmiştir. Mahkeme üyelerinin sanık Abdullah Hişam Mahmud Hüseyin ve Abdullah Eid Ammar Fayyad hakkındaki oybirliği vesilesiyle asılarak ölüm cezasına çarptırıldı Mahkeme, sanıklar Muhammed Essam Eddin, Mohamed Abdel Hamid ve Ahmed Mohamed Tarek'ı ömür boyu hapis cezasına çarptırdı. Mahkeme, kalıcı ikametlerinde, kişisel kimlik kartıyla, Katar, Türkiye ve Suriye'de ikamet yasağıyla beş yıl süreyle ihtiyati tedbir olarak ikamet etmeleri ve ayrıca ateşli silahlara, cephanelere ve patlayıcılara yapılan harcamalara ve el koymalarına mahkum edilenlerin emrini verdi.
